Leonard Denny Memorial Trophy Match – Wednesday 24th January

It was an early bath for our lads against King George Field.  Although the away team of Laurence, Bob, Barry & Peter T managed to win, the score wasn’t high enough to cover the deficit of the home team of George, David S, Brian & Dave B.  The latter leapt in at the last minute as both Norman and Terry are down with ‘flu.  We hope they feel better soon – preferably by the weekend when we play Chertsey!

We were able to welcome Leonard Denny’s grandson, Michael and Michael’s daughters down to Cambridge Park for the evening.  They enjoyed looking through the records of the Denny Cup all typed up and bound in a lovely leather book – do browse through it when you’re at the club.  Cambridge Park won the Denny Cup twice and current member Chris Yelland was playing in the team both times!

Good luck to King George Field who will be playing Egham in the next round.  We hope both teams play well on the day.
