Four men’s rinks were be out again this Saturday in the first round of the Men’s London & Southern Counties Shield.
Despite a good start on most rinks, Hounslow got into their swing and put the pressure on our chaps and secured a good win on all four rinks. Well done to them and we wish them luck in the next round.
With the arrival of a heavy duty blasting gas heater (usually reserved for building sites) mid morning, thanks to Peter Barnes, the clubhouse heated up very nicely and we were almost in danger of seeing the chaps strip down to their underwear as it became so hot so quickly. Fortunately, one of us knew how to turn the heater off and we were spared the spectacle!
At home, there was a great friendly atmosphere and a lot of banter both on and off the green as the teams enjoyed a few sausage rolls with their post match drinks.
