Weyhey, for the first time in many seasons, we managed to win against local rivals Teddington – 3 rinks in the R&B Men’s League match and also on the friendly rink at Teddington!
Several Teddington members play indoors at Cambridge Park, so, although the league match was very competitive, there was a lot of friendly chat on the greens and a brief appearance by a local dog who admired the short grass and wanted to join us for a quick bound around and between the players!
We hope Terry’s knee is now on the mend. It was good of him and Ann to come down and support when he frustratingly couldn’t take up his place in the team. Good to see Gym supporting from the sidelines too.
Thanks to Reg who moved from the friendly to a serious rink and played very well!
We all enjoyed a Ploughman’s supper with tea after the game. I think CP also cleared up all the raffle prizes, which probably was like rubbing salt in the wound. Ooops.
