Sunday 27th November – Mixed Triples Fun Afternoon

There was considerable laughter across the green during the Mixed Triples event.  Archie & Jim P, Laurence & Gym to name but two pairs of skips who were obviously enjoying themselves.  And from the sound of it, so was everyone else with good woods, short woods, ditched woods and all other sorts of woods but no wrong biases!

Well done to Sheila’s who successfully skipped Roy E & Bob to score +12 points over the afternoon.  Runners’ up were Wilma, Ranjani & Dawn with +8 and last-minute-sub Peter Judge, Ray P and Rocket who scored +5.

Many thanks to Ann B who, along with baking a Sticky Marmalade Cake, took charge of setting up the tea tables, cutting up the cakes and assisted with making the tea at the end of the afternoon.

Thanks also to Barbara for the yummy Rock Cakes and to Frances for the quickly-disappearing Victoria Sponge and Fruit Scones.  Dawn baked the sausage rolls (frozen from Tesco £2.00 for 40 and excellent quality if you need to know for your forthingcoming events) and also provided a couple of cakes.

Yet again, the team work came out as lots of the bowlers chipped in either to make the tea or set to in the kitchen afterwards to clear and wash up.

Laurence and I would like to thank all of you for your support both in signing up for the matches and chipping in with all the background tasks.  We really appreciate it and the great ambience that is being created at the club.
