Congratulations to Jacqui and Karen who had a comfortable win in the Middlesex Ladies Pairs quarter-finals Rita & Dot from Staines in yesterday morning’s blistering heat.
After a short break when plenty of water was taken on board, they went on to play Sue B & Catherine from West Ealing. The match started very closely but with Karen playing more consistently against the lesser experienced Catherine, it set up a good head at each to allow Jacqui to consolidate and draw or play positional shots making it hard to Sue to get in.
Great play by both girls puts them not only into the final against Sue A & Hannah from Bush Hill Park but also a place in the Nationals at Leamington in August!  Brilliant!

Dave & Gary went down to former and now current finalists Glen & Norman from Hendon who went on to play a thrilling semi-final v the boys from Poplar in a repeat of the 2024 final

Meanwhile on rinks further down the green, the Tony Alcock team battled away v North London who had beat us by 1 shot  in the same semi- final  in 2023.
With Tricia under the weather, Ann H was brought into Dave P’s team (which included Peter J as lead and Elaine at 2) from her Pairs spectator seat. With borrowed clothes, shoes and bowls (2 sizes smaller than her own) she played a lot better than some of us had we been thrown in at the deep end!
On the other rink, Steve G, Brian Le M, Tina and Dawn all played well with each player putting in some shots worthy of running down the green and “ high- fiving”. However we are much more reserved than that!
We won overall by 9 shots putting us into the Area Final v Bush Hill Park on a neutral green within the next fortnight. Eek!

North London were great hosts for the day and their greenkeeper should also be very proud! Thanks
