Sadly Duncan lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer followed by three strokes this morning.
The carers and I were with him as he slipped off this mortal coil in his sleep.
I will let you know if the funeral details when we’ve got ourselves sorted.
Thanks to everyone who has asked after him since his diagnosis. He (we) have been overwhelmed by the love and care you have given us.

For all indoor only members, the invoices have been emailed out for subs due for payment now. If you haven’t received your invoice, please check your junk/spam folder and if still no sign of it, please contact Jane at the Club.
For combined outdoor/indoor members for 2025-26, you should have paid the full amount in May 2025. Again, if you haven’t received any doubt, please contact Jane.

Current members do not need to complete an Application Form, and should have received their invoices with payment due on 1st May for Combined, Outdoor and Social Membership, or 1st October for Indoor membership.

Indoor Carpet Replacement
After 20 years, the indoor carpet has reached the end of its life and needs to be replaced this year, probably in early September (after the wall repairs have been completed).
The cost of this, including remedial work to level the floor in several areas and new underlay, will be in the region of £35,000 plus VAT. While this cost will be amortised over 20 years or so (the expected life of the carpet), we do need to increase our income to pay for it; therefore the board has decided to increase the indoor rink fee, as this is directly linked to use of the indoor green.
The increase will be from £3.50 per 2 hour session to £4, effective 1 March 2025. 1 hour sessions will increase pro-rata to £2.

Greg Harlow was greeted at the Club this morning by Brian delivering a wrong bias with the new set of bowls he’d bought from Greg at Potters last month!
Brian asked who had ‘sneaked’ on him and Greg said it was him! Not every Wrong Bias Club bowler can claim to have a certificate signed and awarded by the World No.1! That one will be getting framed!
Greg had made his way down to Twickenham following discussions with Ange and the ABC Clinic whilst she was at Potters.
