We have just learned that Jack Bache lost his battle with cancer yesterday and our deepest sympathies go out to his family on their loss.

A left-handed clever bowler with a quick wit, a lively sense humour and such a fun person to have on your team, he will be well remembered and missed by Cambridge Park and Sunbury bowls clubs.

I was trying to think the last time we saw him play – last summer he played at Sunbury against us and maybe managed the odd indoor game at the start of the 2019 indoor season,  never failing to let his illness get the better of his outlook on the joys of life.

Jack’s funeral will be on 11th September at Hanworth Crematorium.  As the numbers permitted to attend are very restricted, we shall have to raise a mug, cup or glass in memory of a much loved and well respected member of the Cambridge Park family.
