Well done to Jean & Nadine in the MIddlesex Pairs Semi-Final. From the look of the FB roving reporter’s scores, they were behind the whole game but managed to go into the final at 17-17. Phew. Nadine got shot with one of her first three bowls and it stayed there until Jean and Wendy and played all their bowls. Well done, indeed!
Last night just as the showers started, Sarah, Duncan, Gym & Dawn took to the CP green v Tina C, Anna, M, Ashley & Rob H from Ashford in the Middlesex area quarter final of National MIxed Fours. With Sarah & Duncan giving us a very solid front end throughout the match and the Ashford team being off their A game, we won 15-7. Dawn managed to enter the name details correctly on the Bowls England form but put the CP score on the left (as on the scorecard), so the entry now appears as a win for the Ashford team (Doh). I blame the heat! Hopefully a photo of the scorecard and a prompt covering email to Bowls England will enable them to make the necessary changes. They now play the winners of Paul Cater and Sue Butcher’s teams who are playing their quarter final tonight.
Whilst that is going on, CP’s team for the Tony Allcock’s MIxed Double Rink will be playing at Brentham in the MIddlesex Area Semi-final. Good luck to them. If anyone would like to come over and watch, play starts at 6.00 pm
