Competitions are under way again.
Dawn started off like a steam train against Doreen H from Egham in the National Over 60’s, then with the surprise, she diverted into the sidings and couldn’t get back on track despite best efforts of the Fat Controller inside her head. Well done to Doreen though. It was a great come back.
Tina and Ann B are at Egham tonight in the National Over 60’s Pairs playing Doreen again who is accompanied by Pauline Clark (who knocked out Dawn in the Champion of Champions by 1 shot). It should be a good match tonight if any of you are in the Egham area.
At the same time, Peter T & Dawn will be playing Mixed Pairs in the L&SC competition down at Grattons IBC in Crawley.
Good luck to all of them.
Coming up on Saturday 8th January is the last 16 of the Yetton Plate v Folkestone. All four ladies’ rinks will be playing at Mote Park in Maidstone starting at 10 am. Team to be published at the weekend.
On Saturday 15th, the men play Egham in the next round of the L&SC Challenge Shield. Please let Steve G know if you are available. There will be two rinks at home and two away starting at 10 am.
The Australian Pairs is still going ahead this Sunday starting at 2.00 pm. Unfortunately two have dropped out due to a family bereavement, but luckily two more are ready to step into fill the spaces. It’s a fun afternoon and spectators are welcome
George H is a bit under the weather so said he won’t be at the club this week or maybe next. We hope both he and Roy E feel better for the new year.
On a more upbeat note, congratulations to Gordon who became grandfather to a baby girl at the weekend. Lovely news!
