Friday Night Triples

Friday Night Triples League starts tonight!

Play starts between 5:00 & 5:30 but no later.

Met Office says less than 10% chance of rain, so it looks ok!  You’ll probably need a fleece or jumper though. Enjoy!

Big Bowls Open Day – Monday 29th May

Sarah has been beavering away in joining Cambridge Park in with Bowls England Big Bowls Weekend with our own event on Monday 29th May.
Flyers as shown below are available at the Club. Please distribute to all your various contacts – family, Friends, other sports or creative groups, neighbours and the like.
It’ll be a fun day and introducing everyone into bowls.
Thanks to Sarah for masterminding this event.

Bowling for All and the Rain Stayed Away (Mostly!)

Great day on Monday with lots of bowlers of all ages and abilities joining in the fun.
Well done for Ange for organising, to Jacquie E for spending her birthday with us – a lot of the time in the kitchen; to Jane behind the bar and everyone who came along. The atmosphere was brilliant!

Well done to Christina vC for spotting we had two partially invisible bowlers (Oh, you just can’t get the staff, can you?!)

Own up Mr Invisible!

Bank Holiday Monday

Hope you’ve all enjoyed the Coronation, Street Parties etc. Yesterday had the best weather for the weekend, for sure.
Personally, I enjoyed the Westminster Abbey Service music to the concert last night, although Katy Perry was excellent.

Today, it’s our chance to play, eat and get to know each other. If the weather does as forecast, we’ll move indoors.
Ange is catering for 34 Ploughman’s Lunches so we’re all looking forward to seeing you! 11:30 start for the less competitive bowls.

Saturday 6th May – Enjoy the Coronation to the Full. Match v Masonians Cancelled

Unfortunately Masonians couldn’t get a team together for Saturday, so the match has been cancelled.

Enjoy the Coronation and all the Street Parties if you’re going to them.  We’ll be happy to see what you’re all doing – probabyl in and out of the rain!

Don’t forget on Monday there’s Coronation Bowls starting at 11:30 for everyone who wants to come along and play some fun ends, practice some shots, bring family members.  Ploughman’s Lunch at approx 1.00 pm (please sign up or let Ange know today if you’re coming), then a inter club friendly in the afternoon.

We still need some more names for the next 3 Saturdays and Sunday 14th.  The Richmond & Barnes matches would have been friendlies if we hadn’t rejoined the league, so don’t be afraid to put your name down to play.  Playing in any of the matches helps improve your game.  Being a league adds just a bit more competitiveness!

Calendar Update Again – 1st May!

I’ve added the two Men’s competitions for which we now have dates.  _Tuesday 23rd for Middlesex Double Rink and Friday 26th for National Top RInk.

Brian N is kindly re-arranging the Friday Night Leagues for that date.

Both matches are 5:30 for 6:00 pm start.

Steve G is still awaiting a date for the National Two Fours v Ashford – they’re the challengers.

On another note, we still need a few more for Saturday’s first friendly v Masonians at Home, 2:30 start so the formal part of the Coronataion and the fly past will have definitely flown past by then!

Monday 8th May – Coronation Bowls Fun Day

Final post of the day!

Ange has put a sign up sheet on the noticeboard (opposite the indoor green) for next Monday.
Everyone welcome for 11:30, Ploughman’s Lunch at 1:00 followed by a ‘Spider’ and ‘friendly’ game – maybe a men v ladies.
Ann Macey is still selling raffle tickets in aid of  the Riding for the Disabled School in Bushy Park. The draw will be on Monday 8th

If you have any suitable raffle prizes, please take them down to the club.
Thanks.

Outdoor Green Bookings.

Please use the outdoor green booking page.
m unlike indoors, the 6 rinks maybe tuning from the clubhouse to the Bridge Club or at 90 degrees to that.
So, you may like rink 5 from the clubhouse but not when it’s running the other way.
So, when you make your booking, please add Club Comp, County Comp, National Comp or roll up to your name.
Nationals will get priority over County, County over Club matches and Club over roll up.
I hope that makes sense.
It will also help Jane with the bar and locking up timings.
Thanks.
