Sunday 12th June Busy!

This morning, several of the girls will be at the Middlesex Two Bowls Singles comp for Areas 3&4 at Hayes B C.
At home, starting at 10:00 am, two Mixed Fours will be playing Bishop Duppas the the Tony Alcock Trophy at C P.
supporters and spectators welcome at both venues.

And finally,

Belated Happy Birthday to Scott for yesterday  we hope you had cake, jelly and fun at bowls!

Saturday- SML v Sunbury & Ladies Double Rink

Today, our ladies are out in force again v Winchmore Hill in the Middlesex Ladies Double Rink. Our home side play at 10:00 and the away team at midday. Odd, but permissible under the rules.

This afternoon, the club have a team heading off to Sunbury for the South Middlesex League.  Play starts there at 2.30 pm if anyone would like to go and support them.

In the Middlesex comps, Sarah & Lucy went down to Kerry & Lou in the Pairs and Norman, Mike  & Steve lost to Joe, Luke & Rob at Ashford.
Ann & Cathy beat Vicki & Flo at Ashford and Jean & Nadine won at Bishop Duppas.

Good luck if you’re playing and have a nice day whatever else you’re getting up to. Weather looks good but pollen count very high!

Middlesex Competitions Update

Lots is competitions some National some County.

National Ladies Pairs

Tina & Cathy beat Jean & Ange and go on to play Tricia & Dawn.

National Mixed Pairs

Tina & Ashley play Lucy & Kevin and Dawn & Paul C play Vinesh & Janine from Brentham.

Middlesex Pairs

Today sees 3 of the CP Pairs in action at Ashford

Ann & Cathy play Vicki & Flo

Sarah & Lucy play Kerry & Lou

Jacquie (or maybe Janice) & Marie play Marion & Carole at CP; and

Jean & Nadine play Carole & Frances at Bishop Duppas

Mixed results in the Singles yesterday with wins for

Nadine v Tina

Cathy v Dawn

Marie v Carole from BD

Whilst Jean lost out to Anna from Ashford and Ange lost in a 20-21 nail-biter to Isobel from BD  To be fair, all the games were close, which is just what they should be!

Hopefully there will be more mixed, men’s and national results soon

 

 

Our First Finalists!

Congratulations to Tina, Nadine, Cathy & Ann on reaching the Final of the Middlesex Ladies Fours after beating Bush Hill Park in the quarter final and West Ealing in the Semis.
Sarah, Tricia, Lucy & Jean went out to North London in the quarters who then beat Ashford to reach the Final.
This will be on 24th July along with the other finals at Bush Hill Park.

Wins All Round!

There were wins for Lucy & Kevin as well as Dawn & Paul C in the National Mixed Pairs and a win for our Ladies in the National Top Club this weekend. Well done!

However I think the biggest triumph was the brilliant concert from Buckingham Palace which started with that wonderful tea party with HM The Queen and Paddington.  Absolutely hilarious!

We think team selection is difficult  but whoever was on the selection team for last night must have had an unbelievably hard task choosing which artists to drop eg Sir Cliff Richard, Tom Jones , Ed Sheeran, who we might well have expected to see.
It was a great line up with a balanced mixture of older and younger performers and tributes from Prince Charles & Prince William. If you didn’t manage to see it, you can watch on iPlayer.
Congratulations to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth for an amazing 70 year reign!

Ladies Top Club Today

The girls are packing their waterproofs and grippo and heading off to Ashford this morning to play in the National Top Club competition.
It comprises

Singles (4 bowls) – Dawn

Pairs – Ange & Ann

Triples – Sarah, Lucy & Jean, and

Fours – Tina, Tricia, Nadine & Cathy

Reserve – Audrey
