Norman Would Like Some Help – Sunday 8th May

Norman is organising some helpers for Sunday – to welcome the Middlesex ladies and any guests who may like bacon rolls and teas/coffees throughout the morning.  There should be around 59-60 people at the club so friendly faces and a good pair of hands would be greatly appreciated.
Please could you let Norman know if you can offer an hour or two between 09:00 and 15:00

You will also have the opportunity to browse the Bowlswear Direct stand in case you need anything for this season

Thanks.

Bank Holiday Afternoon Roll Up

The green will be closed all of Monday morning as Trevor is getting on with the maintenance repairs from the dastardly  Mr Fox’s digging!

We’ll have a roll up 2.00 pm – 4.30 pm, so if you haven’t dusted your outdoor bowls off yet, please do so and come along and join us!

Thursday 5th May – Polling Day

I know you all know it’s polling day, but newer members may be unaware that the Clubhouse is used as a local polling station.  If you’re intending to have a roll up – which would be a good show case for bowls and the club – please only use the main door and changing room for going in and out.

Sunny Saturday!

But don’t be deceived, it’s chilly out there!  If you’re coming to the roll up at 11.00 am this mornng, make sure you’re warm.

Traffic around Twickenham will be busy all day as it’s the Army & Navy annual match.

This afternoon I’m putting the entries in for the Middlesex Indoor Competitions for 2022/23, so please let me know if you’re still intending to enter but haven’t givn me your form.  Thanks.

The outdoor season really gets under way tomorrow, with the mixed friendly v Masonians.  We’re looking forward to welcoming them to the Club match starts at 2.30 pm or when the locker-upper after Masonians market can get to us!

Have a good weekend.

Congratulations to Kevin L!

Congratulations to Kevin Liffen who has been selected for the upcoming Home Counties Middlesex  v Bucks match on 21st May.
In 2021 Kevin was selected for his first Home Counties game then tested positive for Covid on the morning of the match, so missed out.
We’ve got everything crossed for him this time and wish the whole squad to have a resounding success!

Ready, Steady ….

Gooooooooo!

We have started playing outdoors now with our first match on Sunday 1st May v Masonians at home.  Just need 5 more players.

There are outdoor roll ups today and Friday from 10.00-12.00, Thursday evening at 6.00 pm.  If the traffic from the rugby is putting you off on Saturday afternoon, we can move the roll up to Bank Holiday Moonday.

Come on down and try out your bowls over the next week and if you think maybe a different size would be an option, then Bowlswear Direct will be bringing their roadshow to the Club on Sunday 8th May.  11.0 am – 2.00 pm.  They will also have a range of outerwear as well as long trousers, shorts and tops, shoes, measures, gloves, bags, bowls holders, scorecard holders and various accessories which you might wish to purchase.

No rain forecast for the rest of the week but it’ll still be a bit chilly until Monday, which is a Bank Holiday.
