GOLD for Karen & Jacqui!

On a tight final v Tonia and Berni from Brentham, Karen & Jacqui started a bit slowly then it was nail biting for the rest of the match although they just stayed ahead.

On 17th end they were down until Jacqui trailed the jack back to near the ditch and they were only 1 down.

Tonia sent her bowl up and unluckily for her, clipped the CP bowl in for shot and our girls went into the final end 5 up.
Playing positional bowls behind the jack, Jacqui and Karen were 1 down. Tonia managed to get in for 2 but not enough to beat Jacqui & Karen.
They’ve had a great season.
Well played girls!

Congratulations to Karen & Jacqui!

Whilst Cathy and Elaine both lost their Middlesex Over 55’s quarter finals this morning, Karen won hers. Hard luck and well done to all three girls respectively.
Onto the pairs and Karen & Jacqui won their quarter v Sue & Hannah from Bush Hill Park with a convincing result. They played Grovelands in the Semifinal and, despite dropping a 7  (oops) they came back and took a 4 and a 5 on the next 2 ends. Carrying on with confidence, they had a comfortable win putting them into the final. Brilliant!!

So, Karen will play Tonia from Brentham in the singles semi finals next Saturday as well as the final of the pairs with Jacqui.
All these finals will be at Cambridge Park starting at 10:00 am and the girls would love your support.

This Weekend

Unfortunately Ashford couldn’t field a friendly team this afternoon. Both their men’s and ladies double rink teams are playing big matches today. Good luck to them.
Tomorrow is a big day for Karen as she plays in both the Over 55s Singles quarter final as well as the Over 55s Pairs with Jacqui.
Cathy and Elaine are also competing in the Over 55s Singles quarter finals at Bush Hill Park.
Good luck to all the girls. Play well. Stay focussed as well as hydrated!

R&B Thursday

We hope it won’t be a blues night just rhythmical!

Petet J, Paul A, Elaine G, Tricia, Andy & Steve return to West Ealing to complete the R&B 3-2-1 competition which started 10 days ago and subject to a tropical storm mid way through.

At CP, Norman, Peter T & Dawn take on Kevin K & Co from Hampton in the quarter finals of the R&B Triples

Good luck to everyone playing

I see from the rink bookings that the club comps are going well  Keep it up!

19th End & 19th Hole (probably!)

Well Dave P, Gary & Peter J battled it out against Glen, Alfie & Norman in the County Triples Final yesterday in all that heat!

Unfortunately I couldn’t stay to watch as I was on bride and groom airport collection duty.

However I received a very excited text from Gary. “19th End. Still buzzing!”

Wow. That is an absolutely fantastic result! Well done, lads.
I’m sure there were celebrations at the 19th hole and tea for Dave afterwards. .
We’re really proud of you!

Off to Leamington They Go!

Congratulations to Tina & Cathy who won the Middlesex Area Final of the National Senior Pairs tonight against Broomfield.
It means they head off to Leamington on 21st August to play a pair from Bromley.
Hard luck to Elaine who lost the Middlesex Area Final of the Senior Singles to Tonia from Brentham.  Welll done for getting that far, though.

Friday Night Leagues – New Leader!

Thanks to Steve again for the organisation  and league updates.
A new leader in Richmond who have leapt ahead of last month’s lead, Marble Hill, while Radnor Gardens leapt from the bottom right up into second place. Well done!

It was glorious last Friday night. Not a waterproof in sight!
