I don’t think you’re painting for the National Gallery or emulating Banksy but probably more along the lines of walls !
See Tony O’Brien for more details.
Well, we may not be top of the league, but we have some good news with three semi-finals!
Pairs: Steve G & Peter J play next Monday at West Ealing v Mid Surrey
Triples: Norman, Peter T & Dawn play North Sheen at Ashford on Thursday 22nd
3-2-1: Peter J (Singles); Elaine & Paul (Pairs); and Steve G, Andy H & Dawn play North Sheen on Wednesday 14th at Putney Town at 5:30. Tricia is also in the Triples squad but isn’t available tomorrow.
Update on 3-2-1 Firstly, Peter Judge was 3-18 down in the singles and clawed his way back to 17-18 when his opponent found his earlier form and Peter lost by 18-21 His opponent had definitely broken out in sweat!
In the pairs, Paul & Elaine got to a good start in the first couple ends, then North Sheen pulled their socks up and took control of the game I spotted plenty of chalk on Elaine’s bowls so she and Paul were unlucky to only reach 8 before CP conceded
I’d like to say the Triples got off to a good start too. We weren’t playing rubbish in any way. On one end we were holding six seconds within 15” of the jack but we just could not turn the game our way for us to score shots. We gracefully conceded after 14 ends and we wish North Sheen good luck in the Final on 1st September
Good luck to all. Finals are on 1st September at Putney Town so fingers crossed we all get through!

On a tight final v Tonia and Berni from Brentham, Karen & Jacqui started a bit slowly then it was nail biting for the rest of the match although they just stayed ahead.
On 17th end they were down until Jacqui trailed the jack back to near the ditch and they were only 1 down.
Tonia sent her bowl up and unluckily for her, clipped the CP bowl in for shot and our girls went into the final end 5 up.
Playing positional bowls behind the jack, Jacqui and Karen were 1 down. Tonia managed to get in for 2 but not enough to beat Jacqui & Karen.
They’ve had a great season.
Well played girls!
Whilst Cathy and Elaine both lost their Middlesex Over 55’s quarter finals this morning, Karen won hers. Hard luck and well done to all three girls respectively.
Onto the pairs and Karen & Jacqui won their quarter v Sue & Hannah from Bush Hill Park with a convincing result. They played Grovelands in the Semifinal and, despite dropping a 7 (oops) they came back and took a 4 and a 5 on the next 2 ends. Carrying on with confidence, they had a comfortable win putting them into the final. Brilliant!!
So, Karen will play Tonia from Brentham in the singles semi finals next Saturday as well as the final of the pairs with Jacqui.
All these finals will be at Cambridge Park starting at 10:00 am and the girls would love your support.
Unfortunately Ashford couldn’t field a friendly team this afternoon. Both their men’s and ladies double rink teams are playing big matches today. Good luck to them.
Tomorrow is a big day for Karen as she plays in both the Over 55s Singles quarter final as well as the Over 55s Pairs with Jacqui.
Cathy and Elaine are also competing in the Over 55s Singles quarter finals at Bush Hill Park.
Good luck to all the girls. Play well. Stay focussed as well as hydrated!
