Middlesex Presentation Luncheon

Sadly our Top Club team didn’t make it past the finish line before Hounslow yesterday. Well done to Tina for her win and well tried everyone else. I gather it was down to just a few shots.

Moving forward, the County Presentation Lunch has a new venue for this year. We’re all heading off to Glebelands on which is based just off the North Circular Road in Finchley. Sunday 5th November. 12:30 for 13:00 sit down. £25 per head. Menu below.
Quite a few Cambridge Park ladies will be receiving trophies and Cathy will be giving a speech as the Singles Champion.
The Middlesex Men will also be getting their awards and a chance to celebrate how well the county as a whole have done in 2023. It’s the best year for quite a long time. Lots of National Quarter-finalists!

Please come along and enjoy the celebrations.

The sign up sheet will be up at the Club tonight and ticket money needs to be in by 24th October.

Middlesex OUTDOOR Competitions 2024

The entry forms for the Middlesex competitions are now available at the Club.
One is for the Men and one for Ladies so check the top of the form!
These need to be completed and handed in by 20th October with entry fees.

PS  These forms are for members of Cambridge Park.  If you bowl outdoors at another club, you will have your own forms

Roll Ups w/c 2nd October

This week we have the usual Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays from 10:00-12:00.
For those new to indoors, Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays the bowlers play right through and most stay for a drink afterwards.
On Tuesdays & Thursdays, there’s a mid-session coffee break.

Tuesday 3rd & Thursday 5th – evening roll ups starting around 6:00 pm.
Saturday 7th – informal roll-up – 2:00-4:00. Please arrive by 1:45 so we can sort out rinks.

Indoor Leagues

David H said the indoor leagues will start w/c Monday 23rd October.

He is still looking for preferably another team for Monday nights as well as Tuesday afternoons.

Leagues rung Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings with official start time of 6:30 but if players can get there for 6:00, they can start early.

Tuesday and Thursday afternoon leagues start at 2:00 pm.  All leagues are 2 hours long which is approx 11-14 ends .

David has put a sign up sheet on the noticeboard, so if you’re interested in joining in, please add your name and contact details to the list.

The majority of teams work with 6-8 in the squad, so you are not committed to playing every single match – if you’re worried about the amount of commitment needed.

If you’re new to indoor bowls, don’t be put off as the leagues are a really good way of getting to improve your bowling and also meet another club members.  None of them bite!

MacMillan Cancer Care Raffle – WOW!

Well done to everyone who contributed to the (updated) £865 raised at the MacMillan Cancer raffle draw last night.

Brian C’s friend took the first prize of the Air Fryer and Sarah H won the hamper.

Unclaimed raffle prizes have their tickets with names on at the Club.

Thanks very much to Ann M who did a terrific job to raise the funds and collect all the raffle prizes. You’re a star!

Race Night  – haven’t heard of any big winners yet.  Maybe they’re all sleeping it off!
